What is the first and foremost step of successful strategic search engine optimization? Strategic project planning?

What I need to plan first? What are the factors of we need to consider in initial project planning?

I usually start with three things.
1. Analysing of current market
2. Look of my competitor’s
3. Looking of future market

Lets say I am going to launch a new site soon, and more interest is coming from overseas, should I launch my site there first and then here in the states when the time is right? Or launch everywhere right away? I feel it'd be cooler to launch in another country and make it exclusive for a while and then open it up elsewhere. Is this a good idea or not?

What I am looking for is a massive list of e-mails for real people that I can use to send out ads to, or shall I say invitations to my new site. I want to get as many e-mails as possible so I can at least guarantee some signups when I open up the site. Is it even legal to do this? I figure people will probably toss it in the spam folder, so how do I draw attention to the people I plan to e-mail?

Starting a new site is rough, and starting with free advertising isn't easy, but what I recommend is going out and plastering up pictures and posters of your site or business to get some brand recognition going. After this, try to team up with various websites and see if they'll talk about your site. If you need to, pay them what you can, and then see if they can do it.

I am thinking about setting up an Ebay shop soon with a ton of items I have in storage and I was wondering how I should go about advertising said items when the time comes? I want to make it where I can get my items up on other sites if possible, where someone can then purchase it from there. Is this doable?

Does anyone here know of any web shops that aren't very well know, but are legitimate ones worth checking out? I am kind of skipping all the top ones because their fees are a bit unfair, or so I believe, and I was wondering if there's a good alternative to all of these other web shops out there?

I was wondering, since e-mail marketing isn't as good as it once was, or so I've heard, how does one go about getting e-mail subscribers again? I am thinking about setting some things up very soon and I'd like to get people to sign up on my future site. I just want to know if I'm wasting time or saving time by doing this? What do you think?

Okay so, I was wondering, does Wal-mart drop ship items? I'm sort of new to this dropshipping business and would like to find stores/retailers who actually dropship and I was wondering if one of my favorite stores, Wal-Mart actually dropships items or not? Please let me know.

I'm going to become a member of Prime soon and I was wondering if I can save a little on fees when listing items for sale? I'm probably asking for too much, but I feel Amazon has some pretty high fees when it comes to selling anything on their site, and since I'll be a member of Prime I kind of hope they'll ignore the listing and sale fees. Could they?

SEO is pretty much popularized term these days; even I don’t see any SSEO forums compare to webmaster or SEO forums.

Is it tricky mechanism that any internet marketing professionals can’t handle it easily? I heard that Strategic search engine optimization is not useful for short term (trendy projects) which is popular at the season alone.
