Selling an e-book that gives out secrets

Someone sent me an e-mail the other day claiming they have the secrets to making money on the web, and I can have those secrets for $20. I was wondering, does this method actually work? I know people who have purchased such e-books expecting it to work, but is it worth even trying? I know most people will do it to cheat others, so if I make a legit book about how to get started in IM, could I be able to sell it and make a nice amount of money from it?

It's very possible that you'd be able to sell it, but let me tell you one thing. If someone is selling an e-book on secrets of internet marketing or SEO, expect it to be common knowledge most of us already know about. Most of these e-books are the same thing anyways, and don't really show much of anything new and useful. If you have some ideas that can help others and are willing to put it in a book, you might have something worth marketing.
