One way of getting some good free traffic is by doing a campaign of sorts. Go around your town/city and talk about your site or business to the people who decide to come. Post about it on social media. Give out free food and even prizes. I know that doesn't sound like free, but if you can get conversions from these people, it could be good for anyone doing it. What do you think?
