I think somebody makes money on Amazon, but I tried and failed miserably :-) I simply think the commission is too low and you have to attract an insane number of visitors yourself to make any money. I still make more on afilliate marketing where the commissions are considerably higher. 6% on a 6$ book on Amazon is nothing compared to 70% on a 20 dollar ebook from Clickbank.

This is true. The way I made my first earnings was by posting an ad for a Nintendo DS for my niece on my sister's Facebook, and she purchased it through my link. Made a percentage back from that including some other things she purchased while using my link.

I didn't make much when I had it on my site. I really think the best method of making any money from it, would be to tweet links and post links on facebook in order to make some money. Especially do this around major Holidays and sales.
