How I would engage my audience

Now, before I begin, I would like to say I'm still a noob when it comes to websites and the such, so please understand that I'm probably going to be wrong on some things. Anyways, here goes. For me, when I look at sites, I expect that site to pop out at me, show me who's boss.

For one, a site needs to be pretty, but not overly pretty. I think a site that's basic in design, but pretty in overall look, is the way to go. Pretty may not be the right word, but I'm going with it.

Secondly, I think a site should have limited ads, or odd placed images that have nothing to do with the content of the site. A site should have limited ads and shouldn't be crowded by stuff that doesn't work or fit the image of the site.

Anyways, feel free to disagree, discuss what you feel should be added.
