Ever dropshipped yourself?

Has anyone here done their own dropshipping? As in, tell a manufacturer you made a sale and they'll send it out to the person who purchased it. It's just sending it in towards that person and I believe each side makes a profit.

I have not done it myself, but I hear it's done a lot.

No, I have not done that myself. I have a brother-in-law who dropships. He gets a sale, sends the sale to the manufacturer or distributor and he gets a portion of the earnings. It's a great way to make money and I would love to do it myself one of these days.

Sadly I have not ever done this, but now I do. I imagine a lot of wal-marts drop ship from one another. I know I've heard of merchants sending unbought stuff to their various other stores because of a sale or something.

I gave up on dropshipping. Too much damned work trying to handle both ends and make them meet.
