Would a simple menu work best?

Okay, so I have seen some pretty obscure menu's in my day, ones with many options, ones with just one option and so on. How many menu items do you think is best? I think I would just do these menu items myself; Home, Members, Faq, Forum and maybe another depending on what I have on the site.

I think a simple menu is best for business. The reason why, is because people don't want a ton of options on a single site. You can have many menu options, but don't overdo it. I just feel it crowds the site.

I always try to keep it at max 7 menus in the header bar. I think you should have a really good reason to create more. Keep it Simple.
