I have been selling mobile websites for a few weeks now. Not getting rich (yet), but selling about one per week.

Every week I get better at selling and expressing the value a mobile website offers a local business. I really believe they are stupid to not have one!

But I struggle with understanding how to establish value for charging a monthly fee. Right now, I only offer a monthly fee that includes 4 updates per month ($37) which makes sense for a very small percentage of my customers. Most don't need changes that frequently.

I would love to build a base of recurring income, but I don't get it. They benefit more by having the site on their own domain, anyways.

When you are selling a mobile site with a recurring monthly fee - what are you providing to justify that added value?

I know there are some existing threads about different mobile website builders.
However, in my case I would be looking for a web based tool making it possible to let my customers update their websites themselves. Since I'm aiming for a multilingual market the admin tool needs to be available/editable so that it can be used in different languages.

I don't like the idea of monthly fees, so a one-time fee is a must. Since the idea is to let my customers update their mobile websites themselves, I am looking for an easy user-friendly tool without any links to the original developer.

I've come across two or three options, but I'm hoping to find some better alternatives.

Any suggestions all welccome!

Just wanted to remind everyone to use mobile ppc to help close mobile site sales. It really is a no brainer with current cost. Think about it..your charging 200 to 500 to build a mobile site that takes less than an hour in most cases. Pull 25$ out of that and send some qualified leads there way. Once you spend 25$ on a campaign you can use the 100$ free credit they(Google) gives you as well. (as of today you can not use the coupons without first spending the $25)

Either way with cost per click for great keyword phrases being as low as .10 you and your client can not loose. That is 125$ worth of targeted local leads at 1.0 per click for $25..you do the math

oh and these numbers were from a current Google campaign in the restaurant niche

I want to make my website responsive and will no longer use mobile website. I have 2 questions

1. Do I need to take any particular action or inform to Google?

2. Things to do before launching "responsive" site?

It just released the latest WP theme, and it is responsive and good looking on mobile devices after testing.
That means that it is killing the mobile website design business.
Anybody using wordpress with no mobile coding knowledge will be able to display their site on mobile devices.

I will surely see some prospect saying me: oh we have a responsive WP site, and we don't need a mobile site!

Previously, most prospects were saying: we don't need the mobile friendly website because we are on Facebook, and it is mobile, optimized and free!

2014 will be more and more difficult to convince business owners.
