4 Plugins to Improve Image Performance
Posted by: shiloh - 12-08-2013, 12:20 AM - Forum: Image Optimization - Replies (7)

I thought I would start on this thread with this topic Smile

1) WP Smush.It:
A plugin that needs no configuration, all you need is install it and Activate and it will reduce the size of the image you upload.
2) EWWW Image Optimizer:
A great plugin for increasing the size of the image without losing its quality, it is also easy to set up.
3) Hammy:
Using this plugin you'll get various sizes of the same image and each user/viewer will see the appropriate image (Mobile users especially), it helps make your page load faster.
4) Imsanity:
You only set up the maximum size and the quality of the jpeg for this plugin to work, and it works once you upload your image, it also has a feature to resize the images that were uploaded before the plugin was installed.

What are the plugins that you use to optimize images?

  The purpose of this forum
Posted by: admin - 12-07-2013, 11:07 AM - Forum: About this Community - Replies (5)

• The purpose of this forum is to spread and share knowledge and experience in how to build a webpage that is totally optimized in every aspect. Design, loadspeed, keywords, images, sales psychologi, conversions etc.

• We focus mostly on WordPress and WordPess related stuff as this is the most popular CMS, but system expertise from other CMS's are welcome too :-)

• We don't accept donations. The forum is financed by AdSense and by selling this ebook: TotalWordPressOptimization.

I'm Andrea (from US) and I actually work at a McDonalds in Rio :-) But I want to make a business online and am trying to find a niche or two so I can quit my job :-)

I hope to meet like minded souls and share experiences and help where I can.

  SurfTown
Posted by: Andrea29 - 12-07-2013, 09:44 AM - Forum: Hosting - Replies (2)

It seems there are a lot of discount hosting out there.I can't even list all the issues I have had with different hosting companies. Latest was SurfTown but I must admit I hate their confusing Cpanel and lately they have been redesigning everything which has caused a lot of issues.

Can anybody recommend hosting that is simple an has a decent uptime?
(I know you get what you pay for).

Do you make your own templates?
Posted by: shiloh - 12-06-2013, 10:42 PM - Forum: Themes and Templates - Replies (15)

Do you design your own Wordpress templates or buy a custom made template? I've seen several template listings on Etsy that are really good, minimalist and elegant and the same time but I hesitate to buy one because of the prices ( average 30$ ).

Do you think it's worth the price? Is it better to learn to make your own template than buying an already made one?

Thanks.

  Kallyas

I got this order on a website and almost by accident I fell over Kallyas. Kallyas could do exactly (98) of what the customer asked for and at the same time I learned how to use the Revolution slider which is running in the header. It took me only a few hours to learn how to use Kallyas.

The design is by the customer and Kallyas matched perfectly:
