I only recently discovered SEO. And it is acting like Pandoras box! Im a complete noob but im here to learn.

Go to Settings and select Permalinks in the Admin page (the first page you see when you log in). WordPress defaults to "Default" - select "Post name" - much better for seo as you can use your keywords in the Post name.

Go to Settings and select Discussion (still from the Admin page) and check if you want comments or not and select the criterias fr posting.

Then install Akismet or NoSpanMX to prevent spamming of your blog.

I was doing a little link building for a client today and I once heard that being to aggressive or unnatural might be bad.

So I remembered something one of the gurus once said (I don't remember who it was):

Give us our daily link...

Create 1 link each day.

6 years ago I lost my job and haven't been able to find a new one in spite of almost 700 applications! I was on the verge of being homeless when I decided to go online and try to make some money. It wasn't easy. And many months went by with out any money. The first month I actually made something I was thrilled allthough it was only 1 dollar! But things got better and I became good at Wordpress and now I can practically support myself again. My biggest lesson through this is the rich are too rich and the poor are too poor. And if you are poor you are f*****!!!

I hope to create a business and make a difference in the world :-)

Im Krantz aka Kristian. I develop websites, mostly in WordPress and I have been so busy that I don't even have my own website yet. I had one years ago but it wasnt from that I got my customers anyway. But some day when I get the time I will create my own site :-)

I think this is a great forum. Im not world champion in SEO even though I do some I also know my limitations and are always willing to learn more.

I like the countdown plugin because it's small, it wouldn't take too much space and you can change the appearance to your likings.
