What happens if you break Adsense rules?

Lets say I broke some rules on adsense and cheated my way to getting some traffic or whatever. What does adsense do to people who break the rules? This is just me wondering out loud because I would like to make sure not to ever do anything bad. I just want to play it safe and since I'm kind of new to adsense I need some more info.
